"Igniting the Local Food Revolution" with Michael Brownlee

This workshop will serve as an introduction to a new systemic framework for localizing the nation’s food supply and catalyzing highly-localized regional foodsheds as a natural process of healing and regeneration. It will explore the beginnings of a pattern language for food localization, as well as a practical pathway for emerging foodshed catalysts.


Michael Brownlee

Michael Brownlee is the author of “The Local Food Revolution: How Humanity Will Feed Itself in Uncertain Times” (North Atlantic Books), a manifesto for localizing the nation’s food supply and strategic guide for those in a position to be catalysts in this process. He is a founding partner of Local Food Catalysts, an online media and events company supporting the emerging local food revolution, and was co-founder of Boulder-based Local Food Shift Group (formerly known as Transition Colorado, the first officially-recognized Transition Initiative in North America), building community resilience and self-reliance through localizing the food supply.
