This two-day course is designed for community organizers, activists, entrepreneurs, civic leaders - anyone who is interested in making real economic change right where they live. Based on Jay's experience leading REconomy efforts in Totnes, England and elsewhere, participants in this workshop will come away with a solid understanding of local economics, how to organize projects, and a real feeling of confidence.
Jay Tompt is a co-founding member of the Totnes REconomy Project and independent consultant. Since 2011, the Totnes REconomy Project has developed an innovative approach to economic regeneration and resilience, which includes the Local Economic Blueprint, Local Entrepreneur Forum, and the REconomy Centre. Jay has also worked with groups across Europe and Japan. Jay is a graduate of the Monterey Institute of International Studies and San Jose State University. He’s also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is an associate lecturer in economics at Plymouth University.
