Come learn valuable tricks of the trade from leaders of two of the longest-running and most-successful Transition Initiatives in the US! Following a presentation on how Transition and other related groups can gradually broaden, deepen, and scale-up their impacts over time, participants will be invited to ask questions, share insights from their own experience, and discuss how these "lessons learned" might help us all become more effective agents for change in our local communities.
Martin Pepper is originally from England and has been involved with Transition Town Media since 2011. He runs the Energy and Resiliency Response groups there and has supported numerous other Transition initiatives. During his regular work day, he manages a team of IT Professionals at a leading energy services company. He is actively involved with a number of other non-profits including trustee and board member positions with several. He is a keen sportsman and lives in Media, Pennsylvania with his wife and two children. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Physics and Computer Science.
Don Hall has had the good fortune to participate in the Transition Movement in a variety of capacities over the past decade. Initially serving for two years as the Education and Outreach Coordinator for Transition Colorado, he went on to found and direct Transition Sarasota (Florida) from 2010 to 2016. A certified Transition Trainer and experienced facilitator, Don currently works part-time for Transition US. He also holds a Master's degree in Environmental Leadership from Naropa University.
