Tickets, Inclusion, and Free Book!
National Gathering organizers have been hard at work for months, pulling together a thoughtful and engaging program of events that includes six pre-conference intensives, three keynote presentations, over 40 workshops, and a two-day leadership retreat, all designed to help foster a more vital Transition to local resilience throughout the US and beyond.
Many different ticketing options are available for each of these activities via the links below. Please note that dorm lodging and meal plans are not automatically included and must be purchased separately. As part of our commitment to inclusion and accessibility, financial assistance is available for those who need it, and all conference participants will receive a free copy of Surviving the Future. Please continue scrolling down this page to learn more.
Inclusion and Accessibility
We are committed to creating an open and inclusive event that embodies Transition values of equity and economic justice. Since the true cost of hosting this event is roughly $250 per person, we encourage those who have the means to do so to purchase full-price tickets and contribute to our scholarship fund. However, we also have a number of other options available for those who need financial assistance to attend.
Our main conference ticketing page (see above) includes reduced rates for youth, students, and seniors. In addition to this, we are offering scholarship and work-trade opportunities, as well as a collaborative crowdfunding campaign. You can apply for a scholarship and view our campaign on the CrowdRise platform by clicking on the buttons provided below. If you would like to participate in crowdfunding to help offset your expenses, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Free Book for National Gathering Participants!
We are delighted to announce that all National Gathering participants will receive a complimentary copy of David Fleming’s Surviving the Future: Culture, Carnival and Capital in the Aftermath of the Market Economy, the recently-released paperback that explores Transition’s wider vision. The late Dr. Fleming was one of the key inspirations behind the birth of Transition, and from his legacy, Transition author Shaun Chamberlin has pulled together this compelling, entertaining, and powerfully-different vision for a post-growth society.
It is receiving rave reviews, and in the words of Transition founder Rob Hopkins: “I would unreservedly go so far as to say that David Fleming was one of the most original, brilliant, urgently-needed, under-rated, and ahead-of-his-time thinkers of the past 50 years. He could not just imagine a more resilient world, but could paint a picture of it in such vivid colours. Step into the world of David Fleming; you’ll be so glad you did”.
We are delighted to have secured funding to offer this important book free to all of our full conference or one-day attendees, and hope that it will help inspire the next generation of Transition in the US. And on Sunday 30th July, Shaun Chamberlin will be running a workshop by video-link from the UK to discuss the book, Fleming’s legacy, and Transition's engagement with the greatest challenges of our times.
